Joining Rotary - Making a Difference Image of GB&I
Rotary is a worldwide organisation established more than 100 years ago. Over 1.2 Million men and women have joined their local Rotary Club, with the objective of “Making a Difference”.
There is a double benefit in joining Rotary – not only can you help others less fortunate than yourself but you make many new friends through club social functions and inter-club (even international) contacts.

Annual "Kids Out" for disabled
and disadvantaged children
With a readily recognised track record like Rotary's, groups of like-minded people can achieve much in the local Community and, joining together with other clubs around the world, can successfully tackle far larger projects.
Help is given not just by raising funds for worthy causes, but by giving our personal time and experience in a “hands on” approach, directly sup- porting the elderly and disabled, and youth development projects .

Funding for Water Aid projects in Africa, for re-housing projects in Sri Lanka for those made homeless by the tsunami, and for world-wide polio eradication are examples of international projects.
Thornbury Rotary Club meets weekly on Wednesdays, alternating between dinner meetings with speaker and short business meetings. Members are not expected to attend every meeting!
