Thornbury Golf Club Youth Open Competition
For The Rotary Club of Thornbury Golf Cup |
|
The Youth Open Competition is organised annually by The Thornbury Golf
Club. It attracts some of the best young golfers in the area,
and the standards of many of them put those golfing members of the
Rotary Club in the shade. |
 |
Around 90 boys and girls aged from eleven to seventeen played
in |
the 2008 event on Tuesday 8th April.
The overall winner was Matt Kippen of the Enmore Park Club, pictured left with Youth Chairman Allan Taylor
and Rotary President Adrian Dennis. Matt, who is a scratch golfer, had a gross score of 74. |
 |
The best novice prize was won by Simon Weeks of the Thornbury Club,

The best girl's prize was won by Claire Wenman of the Cotswold Edge Club. |

from such a wide area. We thank the Golf Club, and
particularly Diana Head the Juniors’ Leader, for their organisation
of an extremely enjoyable day. |
