Thornbury's "Kids Out 2008" At Cattle Country |
|
Established by Rotary and Littlewoods to help children with learning
difficulties. |
| | |
|
Forty-nine children with special needs from The New Siblands School in Thornbury had a memorable day out
when they took part in the annual Rotary Kids Out Day, the largest day out for disadvantaged children
and young people in the UK. |
 |
 |
They and their carers enjoyed a fun packed day at “Cattle Country” near Berkeley, where they joined other
disadvantaged children.
A further 15 children were entertained at the school in an inflated “sensory” dome featuring sounds and light.
|
|
The event was organized by the Thornbury Club and other local Rotary Clubs as part of this national event.
Across the UK more than 20,000 children and their carers were accompanied by Rotarians and helpers from
hundreds of Rotary Clubs to the seaside, zoos, safari parks, theme parks etc. |
 |
Ray Carney, President of Thornbury Rotary Club comments: “Days Out give children the opportunity to experience
and discover new things and the effects of something as simple as having fun can last forever."
All our members and wives love taking part in the Kids Out Day because you can tell by the smiles
what a difference it is making to these children”. |
