Thornbury is the centre of a lively community which our Rotary Club has served since 1971. The town is situated in South Gloucestershire, 15 miles north of the city of Bristol.
In those 35 years we have raised well over £200,000, mainly through our annual "Swimarathon" sponsored event. Funds raised havebeen distributed to many local, national and international charities, projects and appeals.
Thornbury Rotary is about much more than fund-raising, however.  We organ- ise various youth and educational events, including the annual "Youth Speaks" competition which is fiercely competed for by local Primary Schools. It provides transport for the elderly, promotes and assists local projects such as the new play area in Thornbury, and has recently joined with the Thornbury running Club to organise and promote an annual New Year Fun Run (and Walk!).

We meets every Wednesday (excluding Bank Holiday weeks) at the Park Hotel, Falfield.
On the second, fourth. and fifth. Wednesdays of each there is a dinner meeting, usually with guest speaker, at 7:30pm. On other Wednesdays a 45-minute meeting starts at 6:30pm.
Membership is open to all business and professional people who live or work in or near Thornbury. The regular meetings are opportunities to meet and socialise with a wide cross-section of professional and business people, and to hear about many aspects of local and national life. Club membership provides opportunities to serve the community, learn more about the world's disadvantaged people and find ways help them.
