Avon Young Musicians Competition
Are you an outstanding young musician? If so, we'd like to invite you to take part in our annual Rotary Young Musician Competitions. The long established and very prestigious Rotary Avon Young Musicians Award is open to instrumental and vocal entrants from the former Avon County area. It is promoted by Thornbury Rotary Club and eight other local Rotary Clubs.
Selected contestants are required to perform at Grade 7 or 8 level and be not less than 13 years old and not older than 17 years on 31st August in the year of the competition. Suitably qualified contestants are encouraged to enter as soon as they are able to return in successive years.
The competition is held in two stages with heats being held in November and the final in January.
While the competition primarily provides recognition of your skills and a boost to your CV, selected entrants will also benefit from the opportunity to perform in a public and competitive environment. Additionally, appropriate cash awards are made at both the heats and final.
For successful contestants, judged to have achieved a suitable standard, the competition can provide a pathway enabling progress in stages to a Rotary National final.
