The Rotary Club of Thornbury
Meetings at Eastwood Park. Falfield, Gloucestershire
So You Think You Might Join Rotary?
There is a double benefit in joining Rotary – not only can you help others less fortunate than yourself but you make many new friends through club social functions and inter-club (even international) contacts. We like to think of ourselves as being an active and friendly club - why not come along as a guest to one of our dinner meetings with a speaker to get a feel for how we operate?
In addition to our fund raising and charitable events we enjoy fellowship and leisure events with members and partners.
We have social gatherings including annual President’s Ball, barbeques, Christmas party, American Suppers, treasure hunts, garden parties, hog roasts, wine tasting, beer festivals, local walks and many other events to bring members and their partners together in a convivial atmosphere.
Visits to places of interest include theatres, country houses, businesses, other towns and cities and of course our twin club of Barbezieux in France.
Regular sporting events of golf both within the club and between other Rotary clubs, inter club skittles, inter club quizzes, Other events that we have participated in are go-cart racing, clay pigeon shooting, human eventing at the Badminton horse trials and abseiling in Bristol.
Through exploring our website we hope you can see that Clubs like ours have achieved much in the local Community and, joining together with other clubs around the world, have successfully tackled far larger projects. Perhaps you feel you too can 'Make A Difference'?
We meet every Wednesday (excluding Bank Holiday weeks) at Eastwood Park Falfield. On the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month there is a dinner meeting, usually with guest speaker, at 7:30pm. When there is a fifth Wednesday in the month we have a 'members and their partners' dinner meeting. On the other Wednesdays, an hours business meeting starts at 6:30pm and is often followed by lively conversation and entertaining exchanges between members. Members are not expected to attend every meeting, but we have found that most attend regularly to enjoy fellowship and being part of <b>'Making a Difference'</b>. You can view forthcoming events by clicking the 'Club Programme' button.
Would you like to 'Make A Difference' too?
