The Rotary Club of Thornbury
Meetings at Eastwood Park. Falfield, Gloucestershire
So You Think You Might Join Rotary?
There is a double benefit in joining Rotary – not only can you help others less fortunate than yourself but you make many new friends through club social functions and inter-club (even international) contacts. We like to think of ourselves as being an active and friendly club - why not come along as a guest to one of our dinner meetings with a speaker to get a feel for how we operate?
In addition to our fund raising and charitable events we enjoy fellowship and leisure events with members and partners.
We have social gatherings including annual President’s Ball, barbeques, Christmas party, American Suppers, treasure hunts, garden parties, hog roasts, wine tasting, beer festivals, local walks and many other events to bring members and their partners together in a convivial atmosphere.
Regular sporting events of golf both within the club and between other Rotary clubs, inter club skittles, inter club quizzes, Other events that we have participated in are go-cart racing, clay pigeon shooting, human eventing at the Badminton horse trials and abseiling in Bristol.
Through exploring our website we hope you can see that Clubs like ours have achieved much in the local Community and, joining together with other clubs around the world, have successfully tackled far larger projects. Perhaps you feel you too can 'Make A Difference'?
Thornbury's meetings are held at The Ship (Alveston) and follow a regular pattern of two dinner meetings per month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday with speakers. The 2nd Wednesday is club business with a shorter talk. Every 5th Wednesday month is a social dinner meeting with guests, also with speaker.
Would you like to 'Make A Difference' too?
